IRVINE, Calif. July 18, 2013 – Several attorneys from Calif.-based Carothers DiSante & Freudenberger LLP (CDF) have received numerous awards and recognitions recently for their successful employment and labor defense work. Founding Partner Timothy Freudenberger, well-known and respected for his successful and precedent-setting defense of “wage and hour” class action lawsuits, has been named to the Daily Journal’s coveted list of “Top 75 California Labor and Employment Litigators” for the second year in a row. The annual list acknowledges lawyers who have worked on cutting-edge issues and who have had the greatest impact on labor and employment law in California. Seven other CDF attorneys have been selected to the prestigious Super Lawyers and Rising Stars lists for 2013.
“Since the onset of wage and hour class actions, I have worked aggressively to defend my clients against these types of claims, so it’s rewarding to be included on this prestigious list of labor and employment law attorneys,” said Freudenberger. “It is truly an honor to be acknowledged alongside the most-respected attorneys in the field.”
Based in Irvine, Freudenberger heads the firm’s class action defense litigation practice group. Freudenberger represents employers with California operations in all aspects of labor and employment law and related litigation. He has specialized in employment law defense for 25 years, in class action defense litigation for 15 years, and is one of only a few California attorneys who has gone to trial in three separate wage and hour class action lawsuits for three different clients in three different counties.
CDF is also pleased to announce the following Super Lawyers accolades. Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters business, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
- Sacramento-based partners Mark Spring, Robin Largent and Mark Van Brussel have been selected to the 2013 Northern California Super Lawyers list. This is the third year Spring and Largent have made the list.
- For a second year in a row, San Diego managing partner Dave Carothers was selected to the 2013 San Diego Super Lawyers list. Each year, no more than five percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor.
- For the first time, Los Angeles-based attorney Kimberly Foster has been selected to the 2013 Southern California Rising Stars list.
- San Francisco-based partner Kent Sprinkle and attorney Connor Moyle have been selected to the 2013 Northern California Rising Stars list. No more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected to receive the Rising Stars honor.
The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area. The result is a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of exceptional attorneys.
“CDF’s goals have always been, and continue to be, helping clients derive value from our attorneys’ broad-based employment law experience, creating an entrepreneurial environment for legal counsel, and nurturing client-attorney relationships fueled by flexibility, efficiency, responsiveness and creativity,” said Marie DiSante, firm managing partner. “These accolades confirm what we already know; our attorneys are committed to representing California employers zealously and providing them with the highest level of expertise and service. We congratulate and wish them continued success!”
CDF’s nearly 40 labor, employment and immigration attorneys practice collaboratively, from five offices across the state, on cases that have helped shape labor and employment law in California. CDF’s attorneys represent and counsel national and regional employers with California employees and workforces, as well as California-based startups, midsize ventures, privately and publicly held companies and Fortune 500 corporations.
