Ms. Weideman has been lead defense counsel and successfully defended employers in state and federal court litigation, administrative hearings, grievance arbitration, and AAA arbitrations involving claims for whistleblower retaliation, age, gender, race, and disability discrimination, sexual harassment, violation of FMLA/CFRA, wage and hour issues, and violation of collective bargaining agreements.
Ms. Weideman has notable success in obtaining summary judgment, having won summary judgment in every case but one in which she has filed a motion for complete summary judgment. Ms. Weideman has also lectured on summary judgment practice to civil litigators on several occasions.
In addition to representing employers in litigation, Ms. Weideman regularly advises and counsels employers on litigation prevention strategies and conducts in-house training on a variety of employment topics. She is also a frequent speaker at seminars designed to assist employers and employment law practitioners in complying with California's unique employment and wage and hour laws.
Ms. Weideman is the Editor of, and primary contributor to, the Firm's Labor and Employment Law Blog. Ms. Weideman is also a regular contributor to the California Employment Law Letter. Ms. Weideman has been interviewed by local news channels, newspapers, and in-house counsel publications regarding hot button employment issues, such as arbitration agreements, non-compete agreements, and furloughs.
