Emily Gifford provides litigation and advisory services to California businesses and non-profit organizations in all aspects of labor and employment law. Her employment litigation experience involves claims of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, unfair competition, breach of contract, and wage and hour issues.
Gifford uses her experience to advise clients on the important human resources issues impacting employers such as designing diversity, equity, and inclusion policies, remaining compliant with updated federal and state employment laws, and launching independent investigations as needed.
During law school, Gifford interned with the Western States Pension Assistance Project under the Legal Services of Northern California where she advised clients on matters concerning ERISA and the terms of their retirement benefits. Gifford also interned with Oppenheimer Investigations Group which conducts independent investigations into workplace issues such as harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. Gifford uses these experiences to counsel her clients on how to take a proactive approach to mitigate the risks and costs associated with employment matters.
Giffords experience also includes representing clients in non-profit, healthcare, and staffing agency organizations in labor and employment matters.
