CDF obtained summary judgment on behalf of Los Angeles Hospital in a case involving claims of race discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and retaliation in violation of the California Family and Medical Rights Act, along with a laundry list of alleged wage and hour violations. After the employee was terminated for violating Company policies, the former employee filed a civil action wherein they alleged that they were discriminated against and harassed based on race and in retaliation for exercising their right to protected leave. After years of contentious litigation, CDF secured a summary judgment victory in arbitration. Dawn M. Irizarry led the defense strategy in securing this summary judgment win with the assistance of Carolina A. Schwalbach and Wanja Guy.
