CDF Expands Firm Leadership, Elevates Four Attorneys to Partner

Employment litigation attorneys Robyn Frick, Kimberly Jansen, Denisha McKenzie and Thomas Song elevated to Partner; Allison Chua named Senior Counsel.

IRVINE, Calif. - Jan. 6, 2021 – Labor, employment and business immigration law firm CDF Labor Law LLP (CDF) is proud to announce the elevation of four attorneys to partner and an associate promotion to senior counsel.  These individuals are among the 40+ CDF attorneys who defend and guide employers through the challenging legal landscape in California.

Robyn E. Frick (Orange County – Partner) is a business-oriented, practical attorney with close to 15 years of experience representing clients in complex employment and business matters.  Uniquely positioned with both in-house and outside counsel experience, Frick endeavors to provide sensible, cost-effective solutions to complex legal issues.  By keeping apprised of California’s ever-changing employment laws, Robyn provides cutting-edge and creative advice to help employers navigate through otherwise challenging waters.  She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of California at Los Angeles and received her J.D. from Loyola Law School.

Kimberly M. Jansen (Orange County - Partner) is a seasoned, labor and employment litigator with over 15 years of experience defending employers faced with legal challenges, presented in both individual and collective capacities.  Jansen is a trusted advisor who works with employers to assess their internal practices, to investigate internal disputes and when necessary, defend their business decisions in court and arbitration.  Her background includes working with employers in such industries as manufacturing, healthcare, retail, technology and hospitality.  She graduated from the University of California at San Diego and received her J.D. from American University’s Washington College of Law in Washington, DC.

Denisha P. McKenzie (Orange County - Partner) defends employers in all areas of labor and employment law in state and federal court, as well as before various administrative agencies, including the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) and the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE).  Her practice has a special emphasis on vigorously defending alleged claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful termination.  A significant portion of her practice is also dedicated to defending wage and hour single-plaintiff, class action and PAGA lawsuits.  Denisha is a graduate of Tufts University and received her J.D. from the University of California, Irvine School of Law where she was a member of the Inaugural Class.

Thomas B. Song (Orange County – Partner) has focused his practice on Cal/OSHA compliance and related litigation.  As prior legal counsel to the Cal/OSHA Appeals Board, he uses his unique background to provide tailored and effective advice and representation to employers in all aspects of OSHA law.  Tom is also a seasoned employment defense attorney, and regularly represents employers throughout the state in employment compliance and litigation.  Prior to becoming an attorney, Song was an officer in the U.S. Navy, and served on a guided-missile cruiser and as a nuclear engineer on the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) aircraft carrier. He is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Nuclear Power Program, the Defense Language Institute (DLI), and served as the foreign exchange officer to the Korean Naval Academy.  Tom graduated from the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) and received his J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles.

In addition, Allison O. Chua (Los Angeles) has been promoted to Senior Counsel.  Her practice focuses on representing and advising employers in all areas of labor and employment law, including claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour disputes in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies.  She also has experience litigating cases involving misappropriation of trade secrets and unfair competition.  Allison is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and received her J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles.
