Tim Freudenberger honored for excellence in employment defense work with California employers

IRVINE, Calif., July 21, 2014 – Carothers DiSante & Freudenberger LLP (CDF), celebrating 20 years of protecting California employers, is pleased to announce that Founding Partner Tim Freudenberger, well known and respected for his defense of class action lawsuits, was named to Daily Journal’s list of “Top 75 California Labor and Employment Lawyers.” 2014 marks Freudenberger’s third consecutive year on the coveted list, and his standing reinforces one of the firm’s main client principles – Protecting Your Peace of Mind – by providing employers in California with savvy, strategic and successful legal representation.

“Class action lawsuits and their outcomes continue to shape California labor and employment law, and I’m proud to be recognized on the Daily Journal’s list for having an impact on this landscape,” said Freudenberger. “For the last 20 years, CDF has worked and grown with the employers it represents, and recognition such as this is a testament to the firm’s continuing commitment to protect its clients’ best interests.”

Based in CDF’s Irvine office, Freudenberger leads the firm’s class action defense litigation practice group. He has more than 25 years of experience in employment law and represents employers in all aspects of class action defense litigation. His reputation for success in the courtroom has been well documented, and he is respected throughout the California labor and employment legal community.

Recently, Freudenberger and his client received a favorable decision from the California Supreme Court in Duran v. U.S. Bank Nat. Assn., 59 Cal. 4th 1 (2014). His defense work on the case, which lasted for more than a decade, helped to shape class certification and trial principles in exemption cases. The closely followed trial, and subsequent outcome before the California Supreme Court, serves as a testament to the respect Freudenberger’s class action practice commands throughout California.

“CDF remains committed to providing quality service of the highest caliber to its clients and is proud to recognize the many achievements made by each one of our firm leaders,” said Firm Managing Partner Marie DiSante. “Tim’s consistent place on this list cements CDF’s position as a leader in California’s labor, employment and immigration law, and we’re extremely proud of his accomplishments.”
