Effective August 13, San Francisco employers have a number of new restrictions related to hiring in conjunction with the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance. CDF Partner Mark S. Spring was quoted in SF Chronicle’s online edition regarding this development in an article entitled “‘Ban the Box’ takes effect for private employers Wednesday,” published on August 12, 2014. In this article, Spring describes the scope of the Ordinance and states that “while this is being termed ‘Ban the Box’ legislation … it’s actually more than a simple restriction on what you can ask on a job application,” and that “There’s a much broader list of restrictions that goes with this.” Click here to read the full article.
