CDF’s Managing Partner Marie DiSante Quoted in OC Register Article on Duty to Pay Workers When On-Call

Marie DiSante clarifies in a Question and Answer section of the Orange County Register if an employee should be paid when they are on-call or on standby.  To answer, the first step is “in determining whether on-call time is compensable time, the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement determines whether the time is ‘controlled or uncontrolled,’” says DiSante.
