Marie DiSante Recognized for Her Achievements in Advancing Women in Law
Mar 11, 2022

When celebrating Women's in History Month at CDF Labor Law LLP, we need only look at our own offices for inspiration. For the past 28 years, CDF’s Firm Managing Partner, Marie DiSante, has been at the firm’s helm, managing a firm that has had a majority of its lawyers as women for most of its almost three decades of existence.

When Marie started her legal career in the late 1980’s, mentors and leaders in big law firms were mostly men. When she started CDF with her partners, she made diversity and inclusion a top priority from day one. CDF started with six attorneys in two offices (Orange County and Los Angeles) and a satellite office in No. California. Today, CDF has 45 attorneys in its five California offices (Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego) and over 60% of the firm’s attorneys are women.

Marie has guided the firm through its growth and expansion, an economic recession in 2009, and the global, COVID-19 pandemic. She has demonstrated extraordinary leadership and business acumen in her firm leadership, while at the same time aggressively defending her clients in labor and employment matters and mentoring women at CDF. She is also very active in various business and legal communities. She serves as a founding member of several Southern California business organizations, including the Collaboration of Professional Women (ProVisors), Orange County Law Firm Leadership Roundtable, Orange County Women Lawyers Roundtable, and Women Presidents’ Organization, Orange County Chapter.

“At CDF, our goal is to continue advancing women in the legal profession, as a diverse workforce is integral to our success. We are thrilled to honor the many contributions women, and in particular, Marie DiSante, have made to the legal profession and their local communities,” said Todd Wulffson, Managing Partner of CDF’s Orange County office.
