Jeremy T. Naftel Sacramento
With a practice emphasis on single plaintiff and class action labor and employment litigation for management, Jeremy T. Naftel helps employers prevail in complex claims of discrimination and harassment, wrongful discharge, wage and hour and Private Attorney General Act of 2004 (PAGA) litigation. He has an impressive record of success at state and federal trial and appellate courts.
Naftel’s representation of national employers with California workforces includes upholding a summary judgment dismissal before the Supreme Court of California of a wrongful termination claim for a financial institution, and a recent victory when he thwarted class certification of 20,000 employees claiming various off-the clock violations.
His facility with large-scale and sophisticated litigation and employee claims has given him valuable strategic insight into best practices for employers and management to adopt to prevent future claims. Naftel works closely with clients to offer industry-specific and California-law compliant management training and as-needed advice and counseling.
Naftel also speaks frequently to other attorneys on the best practices for defending wage and hour class action litigation and PAGA claims. He is co-author of a 110- page book, Employer’s Survival Guide for the Hospitality Industry. The book is designed to help managers in the restaurant and hospitality interest handle everyday personnel related issues.
