CDF Guides Employer to Resounding Victory in Union Election

In 2024, the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) sought to organize employees at a Sacramento-area restaurant that is part of a family-owned restaurant group. CDF’s Traditional Labor Practice Group was retained to assist management throughout the organizing campaign. The team provided strategic advice and counsel, conducted supervisor training on lawful and prohibited activity during union campaigns, and advised ownership on ongoing issues and messaging strategy. Following CDF’s guidance and campaign planning, employees voted overwhelmingly—24 to 4—against union representation. The restaurant continues to operate successfully today without a union.
