CDF Secures Another Complete Summary Judgment Win in Arbitration for Internationally Renowned Acute Care Facility

In August 2026, CDF secured another summary judgment win in arbitration on behalf of a preeminent acute care facility. Former employee, a surgical technician, was terminated after engaging in various policy violations. Thereafter, the former employee filed claims of disability discrimination, failure to engage and failure to accommodate, wrongful termination in violation of public policy and retaliation in violation of Labor Code section 1102.5. Following two years of litigation, the arbitrator granted summary judgment on all claims. The defense was led by Dawn M. Irizarry and Carolina A.
